~~~~WOW~~~~
It's been forever hasn't it?Img_6406
I'm here though...and I missed all of you!
Are you still here ?...leave me a comment if you are.
The family is doing better.  Life is getting back on track...and I'm thinking I might pick up the needles again:o)
Kaitlyn's blankie has been finished for quite sometime now, and it was delivered to her and her wonderful family about three weeks ago!Img_6407
Kaitlyn is doing FANTASTIC according to the mommy!...they really are humble and big hearted people!
She is really full of life and smiles...she knows what she wants and where she's going...and she's only THREE!!!...lol.
Thanks a gazzillion times for helping out with the fantastic blankie!...couldn't have done it without you all!...thank you.
Hope to here from you all soon!...cannot wait to start blogging again.
Lots of love,
Ariane
Just a measly DOILY!
Whoopty-doo!...it's a doily [sarcastically speaking].
Doily1You remember a last week I told you that the girls where using my crochet hook as a screwdriver...remember that doily I was working on?  Yeah, it's gone.  Guess who unraveled it...thhhheeeee girllllls.  I really need to start puting things that I value....away!
Not that I'm going to be some kind of  doily freak, but I like them...I just think that one is enough.  I should make one for my grams, she may enjoy that.  The one seen pictured will most likey stay in the kitchen, under that lamp you see there.  Just maybe, just maybe one for the bathroom and one for underneath the very large tube - like vase filled with seashells on the bar.  Yeah, I'm not a freak:o)  Maybe just a little.Doily2
She's All Girl!
Red_shoesImagine, your highest pitched little girl scream..."AHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
We just so happen to be walking down the shoe isle in Target, when she spots them.
For the past two weeks, we have seen our share of pictures of red shoes, our share of cries at the mall...you know that cry that gets everyones attention...the one where everyone looks at you as if they never seen a crying 2 year old before...I think most of us can relate.
"G" has been on this patent-leather shoe kick lately.  Is it just my kid or do all female toddlers dream of that day when little red patent-leather shoes will adorne their little fat brick feet?
So, yeah, we spotted the LAST pair, and in her size at target the other day...must have been some holiday leftovers.  She hasn't taken them off yet, last night daddy found her asleep under her covers,  still sporting her new reds.
You know what else I spotted when mommy walked in the door?  Coach bags and wallets, though, it looked like "Purse Crew" had already attacked.
EnidETA:  How can I forget to metion what's fresh on the needles!  I'm so in love with Enid YarnballsCardigan from the recent Interweave.  Seeing that I was having such a hard time finding all the exact colorways on a single site, I decided to go with Rowan Felted Tweed, using a friggin' 2.5mm needle...call me a crazy woman!!!
Not to worry though, I did finish the doily and is blocking as we speak.
It's not a screwdriver, girls!!!
Today started out good.  I decided that, it should be nice to make aHook  doily, considering, I've crochet for more than 15 years now...and I've never ever knitted a doily!  Yeah, yeah, they are kinda grandma-ish, but I kinda like them.
So back to early today:
"babe, have you seen my crochet hook, it's was right here (on the couch) earlier?"
"no, oh wait!...maybe it was that thing the girls where using to fix their stroller with"
"WHAT"
...."is this what you are talking about?"
"OMFG"Doily
It was a sad day.  A whopping $6 bucks down the drain.  Though, not to worry, I splurged another $6, a new book and new thread....ahh, I feel much better, the cure-all...SHOPPING:o)
While They Where Sleeping
Nothing remotely fun happened last night.  I guess we've just come to that point of our lives that it'sElla_scarf3 not that important to celebrate and join in all the camaraderie of the New Year...maybe when the kids are a little older...maybe when we can find a sitter we can trust. One thing that did happen.  I made a New Years resolution:
"self, I have been very bad this year, meaning blogging has almost become non existent!...Like you haven't already noticed.  I'm making a promise and oath to thy self that this year is a new year, a new beginning."
"self, I WILL also knit to my hearts content.  I WILL finish projects that I start.  I will buy only yarn that I absolutely need and not want."
"self, I WILL get a job as a paid photographer...no matter how hard I have to work to get there"
"self, I WILL be less stressed this year...organization is KEY"
Ella_scarf2I think that's it. I don't want to overload the list.
Last night was good.  I started and finished a scarf while they slept.  And I mean from start to finish, NOTHING was left undone:o)
Pattern:  Knit Whits, Ella Scarf download.
Yarn:  Elann's Sonata, less than one skein for each color was used, in 8 different colorways.  Also, Elann's Peruvian Collection, Quechua, less that one skein.  I don't have the wrappers, therefor, I don't have the actually color names (if you really want, I could look up my order to let you know exactly what I ordered)
Needles:  Crohet hook J.
Happy January One!
The results are in...
...and the winners are Melissa and Cindy...go visit warming kaitlyns' page for lot's of photos! Winners and prized where picked at random by my three year old:o)
Again, I cannot thank all of you ladies for your help and concern.  It always amazes me to see how we can all come together in a time of need...God bless you all.
Deepest thank you,
Ariane
Alert The Press, Ariane Has a Finished Object
RollerphoebeThat's right.  I completed a whole entire scarft that can fit both Phoebe and I!
Super easy, even a total beginner can get away with it. Single crochet (sc) is all it takes.
And I almost forgot...I wish all of my blogging friends a very Happy Holiday...Love you all:o)
I'm here...
Img_3147Seems like I've been saying that a lot!  Yeah, yeah, the usual, busy...busy.
There is a MEME going around, and aparently it has something to do with mentioning 5 private things about you.  So here go's:
one...I'm a serious shopoholic.  I love to buy...even if it's a gallon of milk.  No, I don't have credit card bill, I guess that's what makes my shopping smart...I pay as I go:o)
two...I have a serious crush on Kiefer Sutherland...and when I mean serious, I mean SERIOUS...LOL.  There is just something about him and his bad ass type attitude and get's me...well you know...
three...my husband and I hardly EVER fight, is that normal?  We are actually the best of friends.
four...I'm a pretty quite person (as if some of you didn't already know)
five...My sister says I have road rage...I don't think so...there are just really stupid drivers out there!
six...I fell really hard on my bottom a few weeks ago, chasing the yougest daughter down the hall.  Now, it hurts real bad when I sneeze or cough, hope I'm okay. Kinda feels like I'm going to blow my tail bone through my ass! really.
seven...I cry when my kids vomit...I hate to see them in any discomfort.
Okay so, not so much private.  Private things are supposed to be private, right?
Happy Belated Thanksgiving!
Girls_bakingMy girls on Thanksgiving morning making our "new" traditional Bridgford Cinnamon rolls.
Hope all of you had a very fulfilled Thanksgiving, we did!  Ton's of food, tons of family...nothing can beat that!  I'll go ahead a list a few things I'm thankful for....
  • Having 3.5 beautiful childrenThree_gen_laughing
  • our household's health
  • a warm house and blankets
  • food
  • a working car
  • running warm water
  • a husband that treats me like a queen (most of the time:o)
  • and I must not forget...all four seasons of 24!!!!....seriously, without it, I would be forced to sit in front of this computer
Two other photos:
  • Grandma, Mom, and younger sister
  • That guy?...well...my hubby was giving me a lecture about how much he hates taking pictures:o)
Thanksgivin_donnie_1Anyone do the after Thanksgiving shopping?  I did.  I usually do every year for the past 8 years.  This year...HORRIBLE...I was involved in a hit and run shopping basket accident! Really.  The damn girl was such in a rush to get the $28 dollar iPod clock/radio!  I was damaged pretty bad that we had to cut the day in half.  Now, I'm left with a tingly/numb foot!
Project Warming Kaitlyn
...has moved.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Kaitlyn_1I know you all are probably very busy, seriously knitting all kinds of beautiful gifts for family and friends, but today I'm asking YOU to help me knit something very special, for a spectacular little girl.  Her name is Kaitlyn, she's beautiful and soooo full of life, no matter what defeats she has to conquer.  Her mom, Heather and dad, Eric are the authors of Kaitlyn's Journey.
Okay, so, thing is she loves the color "pink" and "everything girlie".  Dad explains mom is a "knit-o-holic", but since Kaitlyn's diagnosis, she hasn't had much time to knit.  I want to turn Heather's passion/hobby into a real life piece of art for their little sunshine (aka, Kaitlyn:o)
What I need from you:
  • One (or more if you can) 5 inch "blocked" knitted square, any pattern.
  • Yarn can be handspun or commercial...variegated or solid.
  • Must be pink.
  • I'm shooting for merino wool...something soft and squishy:o)
  • Please be sure to send the yarn label if you can, attached with your info:  blog, website, name, and place of origin.
Are you in??  Please say yes:o)  If so, email me or leave a comment and when you are done I will send you my mailing info.
Edit to add:  One person had asked if she could you silk....of course...high end luxury yarn is GREATLY appreciated...silk...cashmere...etc.  Also if anyone knows how to make those linky buttons, please do so, and pass on the word...I'd make one, if I knew how.  Thanks again! You guys are great! Keep those emails rolling in!
Heather, if you are reading this, and if you can, I would really like to have you knit one too.  You are free to design it anyway you want...you know Kaitlyn the most:o)  Thanks Heather...go here for another page for your sunshine:o)
